​​The 6th Session of the Sustainable Development Lecture Series at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST): "Green Capital and Green Innovation"​​

Lecture delivered by Professor Han Liyan

On the afternoon of March 24, 2023, the Institute of Sustainable Development at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) held a lecture in the "Sustainable Development" series in Room N322 of the university. This lecture invited Professor Han Liyan from the School of Economics and Management of Beihang University to be the speaker, with the theme of "Green Capital and Green Innovation". Liu Chengkun, the director of the Institute of Sustainable Development, Song Yu, an associate professor from the School of Business, and more than 90 postgraduate students participated in the lecture.

Professor Han started with environmental issues with short - term impacts and climate change with long - term effects. He analyzed the connotation of introducing green capital from the three aspects of environmental friendliness, digital technology, and sustainable development, as well as the green innovation ecosystem with both government guidance and market mechanisms. Finally, Professor Han further took the "Hydrogen - rich Smelting Project" of his research team as a case to elaborate in detail the paths for developing green finance and zero - carbon finance. The data of this project included information from 25 economies and 9,952 enterprises, and through empirical research, the low - carbon R & D performance was analyzed in depth. Through theories and examples, the lecture enabled students to have a clearer understanding of green capital and green innovation and benefited them a lot.

In the Q&A session, Professor Han responded in detail to the students' questions. The lecture ended in a lively discussion.
