Employment practice

MUST's compensation policy aims to reflect care and respect for employees. It adheres to the local statutory minimum wage standard in Macau (Law No. 19/2024 came into effect on January 1, 2024: https://www.gov.mo/zh-hant/news/1032895/). The university also provides opportunities for career development and training to safeguard employees' rights and interests, enhance team cohesion and work efficiency. It actively supports trade unions and labor rights, including the freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining (in accordance with Macau Conventions No. 55/2001 and No. 87: https://www.dsal.gov.mo/zh_tw/standard/law_detail/article/iahnqetg.html), aiming to promote a fair and just working environment and improve employees' morale and productivity.        MUST firmly opposes all forms of discrimination. It has formulated an anti - discrimination policy and promises to hire employees in accordance with the law, safeguard employees' rights and interests, and strive to create a respectful and diverse working environment. At the same time, MUST promises to comply with Macau labor laws, and will never allow forced labor, modern slavery, human trafficking, or the use of child labor. It will conduct regular internal reviews and evaluations and provide necessary training to maintain a fair and transparent working environment. The university also endeavors to ensure employees' basic rights, including rights in terms of wages, working hours, safety, and health. Through its procurement policy and supply - chain standards, it requires third - party contractors to comply with ethical standards and conducts regular inspections on compliance to ensure fair treatment and a good working environment. MUST adheres to the principle of equal pay for equal work for men and women and takes measures to evaluate and eliminate the gender pay gap, including regular salary reviews, training, and awareness - raising activities. It also accepts employees' complaints regarding rights and interests/salaries at any time to improve management transparency, fairness, and justice.
